This modern hotel and its popular restaurant are in the pretty little town of Benesov, 40 km southeast of Prague, famous for its history and Konopit castle.
The castle was the last residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, whose assassination in Sarajevo started World War I. The castle is one of the most famous and popular historical sites of the area, and also one of its most beautiful. Every year tourists flock to Benesov to visit the castle.
The areas excellent golfing facilities make it a popular destination for golf enthusiasts and the tranquil beauty of the region makes it ideal for a relaxing break.

The castle was originally built in the 13th century as a Gothic fortification, but Archduke Ferdinand had it rebuilt into a luxurious residence that is now open to the public. Visitors can view the residential rooms of Franz Ferdinand, a large collection of his hunting trophies, an armoury with medieval weapons, a shooting hall with moving targets and a large garden with Italian Renaissance statues. |
